PRIVACY
What we store, and why
We store the email address you provide if you subscribe to updates through the form at the bottom of a ticker page — nothing else from that form goes anywhere. Every visitor's browser also gets an anonymous identifier in a cookie. We use it for two aggregate counts: return visits (for example, how many people come back within a week) and where visits come from; for the source we keep the referring site's host only (for example, news.ycombinator.com), never a full page address. The identifier carries no email address or other personal data. Standard web analytics (Vercel Analytics) track page views in aggregate, with no attribution to an individual. We do not sell your data and do not share it with third parties, and the site carries no advertising trackers.
You can remove your email from the list at any time — write to hi@plainticker.com and we will delete the record within a few days. Any other privacy question goes to the same address.
